Meet Our Staff
At ARC, Radiation Oncology is more than just medicine—it’s a collaborative effort among experts who are deeply committed to delivering the highest standard of care. While our board-certified Radiation Oncologists oversee your treatment, they are supported by a dedicated team of technical, scientific, and administrative professionals who work together to ensure your experience is safe, effective, and compassionate.
Though many team members work behind the scenes, each plays an essential role in providing advanced, patient-centered care. We are proud to introduce you to the people who help make your treatment journey smoother and more successful.
Medical Physics & Dosimetry Team
Led by John Keane, MA – Chief Physicist
Radiation therapy is a highly technical field, and our Physics and Dosimetry Team plays a crucial role in treatment planning and quality assurance. This group includes board-certified Medical Physicists, Junior Physicists, Medical Dosimetrists, and technical support staff.
What They Do:
Using advanced computer systems and 3D imaging, our team carefully maps each patient’s anatomy to plan exactly how the radiation will be delivered. Their goal is to target the affected area precisely—while protecting surrounding healthy tissues as much as possible.
- Medical Physicists ensure that the equipment used in your treatment (such as linear accelerators) is operating safely and accurately. They are responsible for the calibration, maintenance, and daily performance of radiation systems. They also collaborate closely with your physician to design and verify every radiation plan.
- Medical Dosimetrists work alongside the physicists and Radiation Oncologists to create your individualized treatment plan. They calculate the exact radiation dose needed to treat the tumor while minimizing exposure to nearby healthy organs.
In addition to supporting our in-house patients, our Physics and Dosimetry team also provides expert services to clinics and hospitals across the country.

Radiation Therapy Technologists (RTTs)
Your daily treatments will be delivered by our certified Radiation Therapists, also known as Radiation Therapy Technologists (RTTs). These highly skilled professionals are with you each day, ensuring each treatment session is carried out with accuracy, consistency, and care.

What You Can Expect:
- Each RTT has completed extensive, specialized training and holds national certification.
- At ARC, they receive additional hands-on training with our state-of-the-art technologies—making them some of the most advanced RTTs in the field.
- They work closely with your physician and the medical physics team to ensure that your daily treatments are delivered precisely as planned.
ARC is proud to serve as a Clinical Training Site for the only Radiation Therapy Technology school on Long Island. RTT students receive real-world experience by participating in both clinical and physics rotations at our facilities
