Advanced Radiation Centers of New York is proud to be the first radiation treatment facility on Long Island and the most experienced in the Metropolitan New York area to offer:
GOLD-MARKER IMAGE GUIDED RADIATION (IGRT) as our standard technology for prostate cancer therapy. Together with IMRT and RapidArc technologies, optimal delivery of radiation to the prostate and organs at risk is made, while keeping high doses of radiation away from normal, healthy non-cancerous tissue.
ARC is the "Experience Leader on the East Coast," having treated more men with IGRT and RapidArc for prostate cancer than any other facility in Metropolitan New York.
For decades, Radiation Oncologists have been looking for a technology that could "find" the exact location of the prostate before a treatment, and therefore take away any doubt of where the target was. Of course, if one does not know the exact precise location of the prostate, larger fields must be used to not miss the gland. Using newer types of imaging, the physicians at ARC are now able to see the precise location of the prostate as well as its neighboring anatomy and provide the highest level of treatment that exists.
